Hi, Im Tryna Jackson

I live in Austin, Texas! I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas (#89333). Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and my dogs, Growlithe and Gible. Yes, they are named after Pokemon!

I attended my first therapy session during my second year at Texas State University! Let me say…… I was shaking in my boots before attending. As scary as it was, it felt so liberating to hold space for myself and be embraced with such positive regard. Through my healing journey, I discovered that I wanted to support individuals on their paths as well.

I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and cultural competence. Your unique experiences are not only valued but celebrated as we navigate the path toward healing and self-discovery.

My Approach

As a therapist, my approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for the diverse narratives that shape our lives. I specialize in inner child work, recognizing the profound impact that early experiences can have on our present selves.

Mindfulness is a cornerstone of my therapeutic philosophy. I believe in the transformative power of being present in the moment, and I integrate mindfulness-based practices to help clients cultivate self-awareness and develop a deeper connection with themselves.

Somatic therapy is another dimension of my practice, acknowledging the intricate connection between the mind and body. Through embodied exploration, we can uncover and address the physical manifestations of emotional experiences, promoting a more comprehensive and lasting healing process.

I believe you are the expert in your life, and my role is to collaborate and support you as you listen to your inner voice. I work with all types of folks who may need assistance with boundaries, anxiety, depression, personal relationships, adjustment problems, life transitions, and relationship issues.
